210 birds have been stolen in the Murcia area
A local man has been arrested in Cartagena for stealing racing pigeons in Murcia and Cartagena. The Murcia Civil Guard environment department, Seprona, says the 210 stolen birds are worth some 70,000 €, and had been taken by the 33 year old suspect over recent days. He has been named with the initials C.L.C.
A search of his home revealed the presence of seven birds, none of which could be identified as documents could not be produced to prove legal ownership. Several identification rings were also found along with other items in the house.
It begs the question, would not the racing pigeons be able to find their own way home?.
