Sailing regatta to reach Cartagena

This August Brits enjoying late summer holidays in Spain can follow the progress of the Audi MedCup fleet. Guests taking holidays to La Manga Club can take a day trip to nearby Cartagena to see the 19 TP52 sailing boats which are due to reach Cartagena on Monday August 25th, the Costa Blanca News reports. The Audi MedCup flotilla has already competed in Alicante and Palma de Mallorca so far this year. Cartagena will host the fifth event of the competition consisting of several boat races between August 25th and August 30th. Holidaymakers visiting Cartagena Bay can look forward to a variety of activities in both the harbour and the city centre. From drinking to eating out, bars and restaurants will all be extending their opening hours during the regatta, the publication claims. Cartagena is an ancient Spanish port situated not far from La Manga del Mar Menor and functions as the centre of the Mediterranean Maritime Department.
