This is the restaurant Floridablanca which never set sails. From a spa for bashful ladies from the beginning of the 20 century, it converted into a table over the sea for a select clientele. It was here that Torrevieja entrepreneur Alberto Orsí, aided by his wife, now his widow, Fuensanta Albaladejo, founded his restaurant. At 84 years of age, the owner of the site proudly confesses that “I am still doing my rice dishes and keeping this afloat”. Needless to say, there is more than one “admirer” interested in the business, alas Doña Fuensanta keeps firm, “especially now that my niece is taking care of the business”, she adds. Alberto Orsí inherited the former spa from his grandfather. And again it is Fuensanta remembering the past. “When we married in 1952 we first created a small dining room which was then enlarged until it looked the present way. Some clients arrived by boat, moored their vessels and just walked in to have a meal”. Politicians, artists, even King Juan Carlos were among the guests.
